The Utah Aerospace and Defense Association (UADA) is pleased to announce the appointment
of Robert Carroll to Chief of Staff. Robert will play a key role in promoting and advocating for
Utah’s aerospace, defense, and cybersecurity sectors on a global scale.
He brings a wealth of experience to UADA, having worked in leadership roles across a range of
industries, including advanced air mobility, nuclear energy, and internet infrastructure.
Robert co-founded Altaport, an advanced air mobility startup, where he launched an operating
system for electric aircraft landings at vertiports. He took an early leadership role at Oklo, an
advanced nuclear reactor startup based in Silicon Valley. During his several years at Google,
Robert worked to expand internet access in Cuba.
Robert completed his graduate work at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government
and holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Strategy from the BYU Marriott School, where
he served as Student Body President.
Robert is a thought leader in the aerospace sector, regularly writing for Airframe, a newsletter
on advanced air mobility and deep tech startups.
