As chief innovation & economic engagement officer at the University of Utah, Keith has transformed the culture of innovation at University of Utah, launching three technology accelerators, an incubator, a seed grant fund, and a venture fund. Keith has also helped impact Utah’s innovation economy as a co-founder of BioHive, an organization dedicated to promoting Utah’s life science ecosystem as well as working with Utah’s legislature to vision and launch an innovation district at The Point. His strong leadership skills come from over 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur, investor, and innovation leader. He has launched four companies, and helped entrepreneurs raise more than $1 billion in investment capital. Across his career, Keith has launched, help to launch or overseen teams responsible for starting more than 150 companies as well as hundreds of licensing transactions with global companies and venture capital firms.
Previously, Keith was co-founder of SG3 Ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund. Prior to SG3, Keith was chief business officer at Penn Center for Innovation, University of Pennsylvania. Before his university-based commercialization roles, he was an entrepreneur, founding and scaling four companies. Keith serves and has served on numerous corporate and non-profit boards including University Economic Development Association and is a past executive-in-residence at Princeton University. He received an MBA, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from St. Joseph’s University.
