Utah Aerospace Pathways Program

Talent Ready Utah’s mission is to increase and optimize industry-education partnerships to build talent pipelines aligned with Utah’s workforce and economic growth. Talent Ready Utah pathway programs are a strategic approach to utilizing public-private partnerships for pipeline development to meet talent needs for current and projected in-demand, high-quality occupations

The Utah Aerospace Pathways Program was launched in 2015 in response to a shared need for a trained workforce in aerospace manufacturing.  In partnership with Boeing, Hexcel, Albany Engineered Composites, Janicki Industries, Hill Airforce Base, Northrop Grumman, Parker Aerospace, and Align Precision, the UAP program was designed to offer high school students a space to explore, discover, and access their career path in Aerospace.

The program is a unique collaboration between competitor companies, Talent Ready Utah and Utah System of Higher Education, the Utah State Board of Education, the Department of Workforce Services, and the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity to increase student awareness and interest in aerospace manufacturing and composites, train high school students with industry-relevant skills, and connect high school graduates to careers and continued education opportunities.

UAP graduates who complete their required manufacturing and compositing coursework participate in a 36-hour externship with a partnered employer, where employers provide quality, relevant learning experiences and mentor their future workforce. Upon completing the program, UAP students are guaranteed a job interview for qualified positions with all partnered employers, increasing access to career pathways for meaningful resume-building experience and continued education opportunities.
