Prime Machine Inc was founded in 1975 as a full service 24/7 shop allowing customers to get parts fabricated, machined and installed. Originally the companies focus was large industrial equipment; power generation, rotating equipment, and field machining. Our customers include Utah Power and Light, Kennecott Copper, Gold mines thru out Nevada, and the power plants thru out the Western United States.
During the mid 1980’s Prime Machine expanded operations and capabilities into the Aerospace tool design industry. Our current Aerospace customers include Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Barnes Aerospace and Hill Air Force Base. To work with these prime contractors Prime Machine generated a Quality program that conformance to AS9100 and ISO 9001 standard.
Prime Machine is known for large scale machining with two full 5-axis machines horizontal milling machines with travels 27 ft. x 14 ft. x 6 ft. with a 60 ton rotary table. Vertical turning lathes capable of swinging 23.5 ft. diameter and 11 ft. under cross rail.
In 2022 Prime Machine added engineering and design services. Software used: NX, Solid works, ANSYS and Mathcad software.
To ensure the quality within the company: Leica Trackers, Faro Trackers and Faro arms are used are used to create N.I.S.T traceable inspections to document all machine calibrations and GD&T tolerances required of manufactured parts.
These inspectors travel thru out the country doing Prime Machine inspections and are contracted to our customers doing their inspection using, Polyworks, Verisurf and Spatial Analyzer software (SA).
Prime Machine is a diversified shop capable of fabrication, machining, field machining, assembly (electrical and pneumatic, load testing up to 450 tons and reverse engineering with design capabilities. We currently employ 120 employees and operate two shifts daily allowing short lead times for most projects.
